The New Shihiya Elementary School is a single-storey educational facility under design in Enderby, BC. The school will include classrooms, a full-size gym, multipurpose areas, administration spaces, and a large outdoor plaza.

The building utilizes locally sourced wood as the primary structural material, including conventional wood framing for classrooms and administration spaces, and glulam trusses for the gymnasium roof. Cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels provide diaphragm action in the gymnasium, while the lateral load-resisting system features plywood-sheathed shear walls and reinforced concrete foundations.

The design follows the British Columbia Building Code, ensuring resilience to local seismic, snow, and wind conditions. Engineered wood products were selected for their sustainability, cost-effectiveness, and ease of construction.
