Report - Mass Timber foundations for housing and small buildings.

We are pleased to announce the release of our report on the use of Mass Timber (MT) products in foundation systems. This study explores two main approaches: preservative-treated MT systems and a new “tanked” foundation with untreated MT elements.

The report outlines various structural solutions, including Nailed Laminated Timber (NLT) and Cross Laminated Timber (CLT), and discusses their applications in different soil conditions. It also highlights recent research and successful projects that demonstrate the viability of mass timber foundations for residential and small commercial buildings.
