Horseshoe Bay Washrooms

Located along the shoreline in a newly revitalized public park, the Horseshoe Bay Park Washroom is a modest yet thoughtful structure that reflects the coastal setting and natural character of the area. Inspired by simple seaside buildings and the region’s native wildlife, the design integrates durable materials suited to the harsh marine environment.

The structure features an exposed mass timber roof system that spans over individual, fully accessible washroom stalls. Translucent polycarbonate panels are incorporated to bring in natural daylight, enhancing visibility and reducing energy use. The result is a clean, robust, and welcoming facility that balances functionality with a strong connection to place.

As structural engineers, we provided design solutions to support the floating timber roof and ensured long-term durability in a high-exposure waterfront setting.
